| A prophecy given through S. A. Burgess to Hubert Case in 1918 as reported in The Red Man's Hope by Addie Spaulding Stowell. The Spirit is with me as I speak to you. I would speak to thee, my servant and handmaiden. I, thy Father and fellow workman, am well pleased and would encourage thee in thy great work. The ways seem dark before thee at times and the struggle is great, yea, how great ye know not, for thy great willingness to do good and suffer with my people has kept thy heart glad. Yet the ways are, as it were, closed to the great need of my work in and amongst my people, the Lamanites. Ways ye know not of will open in the near futue that will further the cause and waken the great need amongst my church. Doors now closed will open and blessings will be thine and those that have gathered around thee. The work among the Lamanites will be stopped for a time; but in the Lord's own due time, it will arise and go forward in greater power than ever before. This will bring activity to some that have not labored before and rich blessing will be to them, and joy will swell the heart of many that have prayed unto me, thy Father, for the dark skinned race of my chosen land. The needs of my people who are willing to sacrifice to gather my people, the Lamanites, and teach them my law and doctrine will be cared for, and that to bless those whose wants and needs are made known. Fear not, the gathering will more than repay thee, My servants. The ways will be strange to the lay member, but will prove to thee that my hand is not shortened nor slack. Make the needs of my people, (where thou are laboring) known, not only to the willing but to those that are heedless and careless or thougtless of my people, (the Lamanites). Let the people in Zion know the cry of these that long for the gospel. Let none complain of the labor being done. Let no one say the time is not yet, nor scoff at the feeble effort of any hands that are willing to do, let it be but little the blessing will follow the gifts. The years ahead will prove to thee and my doubting ones my hand is with thee in all thy ways to help the Lamanite or the Red Man as they are wont to be called by the world. My hand is reaching out to all mankind whatever their color or nation, hence I bid thee be of good cheer. Be wise and guard thy health as a precious thing. Rest in the time of rest and when thou layest down to rest lay thy worries down away from thee like as it were a book. By doing this thy days will be lengthened and thy mind clear and willing to do my bidding. O, My people, hold up the hands of these my servants, guard them from danger that layeth near and all around them. Shield thou my servants that may come to aid and assist the work in this part of my chosen land. Yea, I say guard thy brethren that comes amongst thee and peace be in the midst. Have no fear theyself, but the stranger that knows not the way of the Red Man, him thou shouldst watch that no harm come from thoughtless speech or angry answer. Thou are acquainted with the ways of thy brother but many knoweth not, hence there is need to be wise in this so no ill shall come to hurt the work thou art doing. It is a labor of love for Christ Jesus. |
