ALEXANDER SCOBEE

Private, Co. D, 8th Kentucky Cavalry
~ My Morgan's Raiders Ancestor ~

Notes for Alexander Scobee:

Champ,
I am really excited because the first person on your list was, Alexander Scobee, my great-grandfather. As a matter of fact my sister and I still have the original ribbon from our great-grandfather's Civil War years. The ribbon reads as follows:
Company D 8th Kentucky Cavalary, Confederate States Army
Cluke's Regiment Morgan's Brigade

(**note: see picture of ribbon below**)

My great-grandfather Alexander (b. August 03, 1827 and died August 18, 1910) and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Combs (b.June 19, 1848 and died December 25, 1919). Both were born in Mt. Sterling, Montgomery Co., Ky. and died in Winchester, Clark Co., Ky.
Thanks so very much for starting the two websites on the "Partisans Rangers of Ky."

Special thanks to my cousin Mary Hatton for providing the above
information and photographs of Alexander Scobee & his ribbon.

The background is:
Perthshire District Tartan
this is where the Scobee's (Scobie/Scoby) originated from in Scotland.
