(God Will Vindicate, I Will Rise Again)

This site is dedicated to my ancestors, the pioneers who endured hardships and fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.  Its purpose is to fairly present the Confederate Cause for what it was and is and to rebut the relentless assaults of propaganda and malicious lies impugning the character of southern patriots and southern people in general.  Furthermore, this site is to present genealogical information about the families I'm researching and to provide information about various Confederate military units and the men who fought in them.  Browse the links below and share your thoughts on the issues.  If you have genealogical information about the families or people listed OR if you have information about the units and soldiers listed herein, please contact me by email.  The search never ends and these page remain under ongoing construction.

"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."
- Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee , Commander General,  United Confederate Veterans, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1906

"He alone deserves to be remembered by his children who treasures up and preserves the memory of his fathers." --Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
"To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root."  --Chinese Proverb
"We have no claim to share in the glory of our ancestors unless we strive to resemble them." --Moliere

"The sword is mighty, but principles laugh at swords.  Overwhelming force may crush truth to earth but, crushed or not the truth is still the truth."
--John S. Tilley, The Coming of the Glory (author of War for What? and The Coming of the Glory)

"People separated from their history are easily persuaded." --Karl Marx
"The history of an oppressed people lies hidden in the lies and the agreed-upon myth of its conquerers."--Meridel Le Sueur

"The Civil War wasn't just a victory of North over South; it was a victory for centralized government over the states and federalism. It destroyed the ability of the states to protect themselves against the destruction of their reserved powers. Must we all be happy about this? [Abraham] Lincoln himself -- the real Lincoln, that is -- would have deprecated the unintended results of the war. Though he sometimes resorted to dictatorial methods, he never meant to create a totalitarian state. It's tragic that slavery was intertwined with a good cause, and scandalous that those who defend that cause today should be smeared as partisans of slavery. But the verdict of history must not be left to the simple-minded and the demagogic."
--Joseph Sobran (syndicated columnist) [www.sobran.com ]

"If men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on the matter which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences that can invite the consideration of mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led like sheep to the slaughter." --George Washington (1732-1799)
