The relationship between Mormonism and scholarship has often been a touchy
one. Entire books have been written on the subject. A great debate
has been waged concerning historical scholarship and religious faith.
Mormon Americana believes that men and women must "seek learning, even
by study and also by faith"
(Doctrine
and Covenants 88:118). To encourage this type of learning, this section of
Mormon Americana is devoted to highlighting Historical Associations devoted to
Mormon History as well as scholarly Mormon history resources on the Internet.
