George Merriam had a daughter Mary but she died in 1646. Joseph Merriam, son of Joseph Merriam, had a daughter named Mary b.1664 that married Isaac Stearns.
The following is a research report by Andrew Pierce: On to the Middlesex County MA problems. Ruth H. Bubul's recent George Hayward: A Line From Concord, Massachusetts, 1635 states that William Taylor(born ca.1618) married by 1649(when he was a proprietor in Concord), Mary Meriam, daughter of Joseph & Sarah (Goldstone)Merriam. After her death, in 1677 he married (2)Hannah Merriam, a cousin of his first wife. The Merriam family is also sketched, with sources such as Lemuel Shattuck's notes, and there seems no reason to doubt that Mary Merriam was not William Taylor's wife. I do not see in your notes the source which supposedly identifies Mary was a Coltham, daughteer of William Coltham of Wethersfield CT, but the latter place is quite far from Concord MA, where William Taylor lived.
The IGI (apparently based on vital records) gives the marriage date of William Taylor to Mary Merriam as 19 October 1650, which seems to clash with the birth of their oldest daughter Mary on 12 September 1649/50; but since transcriptions of calendar dates of that period sometimes don't take into account the 'double years' given between fall and spring, it would be worth another look at the VRs for Concord. Also, the new publication of Middlesex County probate records(to 1660)might be checked, as well as Middlesex County deeds through 1700 to see if William & Mary Taylor, or their children, deeded out land in her right; and a probate for Mary's presumed mother Sarah(Goldstone)Merriam, who married (2)Joseph Wheeler of Concord and died there in 1671, to see if she mentioned Mary or her children. Wheeler's probate might be checked too, since he may have remembered stepdaughter Mary or her children.

JOHN THIMBLEBY, Knt., of Irnham and Bourne, Lincolnshire, and Brigford-by-Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, son and heir, born about 1482 (aged 40 in 1522). He married before 1507 MARGARET BOYS, daughter ofJohn Boys, of Conesby in West Halton, Lincolnshire. She was evidently closely related to John Hussey, Knt., Lord Hussey of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, who referred to one of their sons as his “kinsman” in 1536. John Thimbleby was one of the knights and gentlemen who served as servitors at the Coronation of Queen Anne Boleyn in 1533. At the time of the Linco]nshire Rebellion in 1536, he fell under suspicion of treason, being called “the great traitor” by Richard Cromwell. He was subsequently exhonerated. She married RICHARD THIMBLEBY (or THYMOLB'Vj), Esq., of Poolam (in Edlington) and Holton le More, Lincolnsliire, and, in right of his wife, of Irnham and Bilsby, Lincolnshire, and Bridford-by-Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, son of Thomas Thimblebv, of Poolam (in Edling'ton), Lincolnshire, by Margaret, daughter and heiress of William Belesby, Knt. She was co-heiress to her brother, Godfrey Hilton. In 1489 he was made exempt for life from being put on assizes and from being made assessor “on trustworthy testimony that he suffers from internal ulcers caused by his horse running with him against an oak.” His wife, Elizabeth, died between 1496 and 1522. RICHARD THIMIBLEBY, Esq., died 24 April 1522.

He married KATHERINE TYRWHIT (or TYRWHITT), daughter of Robert Tyrwhit, Knt., of Kettleby, Lincolnshire, by Maud (descendant of King Edward I), daughter of Robert Tailboys, Knt., of Kyme, Lincolnshire [see TYRWHIT 14 for her ancestry]. They had three sons, Edward, John, and Richard, and four daughters, including Anne, Elizabeth and Mary. He married (2nd) Elizabeth Moore, perhaps daughter of Thomas Moore. They had one son. During the reign of Queen Mary, he was a convinced Protestant, being classified as “earnest in religion.” SIR RICHARD THIMBLEBY died at Irnham, Lincolnshite 28 Sept. 1590.
